Advanced STEM Research:Welcome to my school website. This school year I utilize REMIND and Google Classroom. This site will be maintained only for an overview of the class content and items for reference. Please use the Remind and Google classroom codes given in class to stay up to date on homework, class assignments, and topics we are discussing for each week. ******************************************************************************************* Advanced STEM Research: Within this class there will be core driving questions. These questions will center around the Inquiry method, and pulling in valid, recently published research to answer questions about our surrounding world. ******************************************************************************************* Core driving questions within the curriculum: Within this class key core driving questions will be embedded in an inquiry approach, but this class will also be fluid and which it will be geared to research and STEM activities geared around specific student interests. Some of the core driving questions students will encounter this year will be: 1.) What constitutes quality research? 2.) What is the art of asking the right questions? 3.) What is Science? Engineering? Technology? Math? Art? 4.) What is the difference between quantitative and qualitative data and how is it interpreted? 5.) How do humans impact the environment? How can we engineer future technology around our environment? 6.) What is the nature and exploration of energy? What are some alternative energy sources? 7.) How will robotics help humans in the future? ******************************************************************************************* Students will receive a grade each nine weeks of an O, S, or N. O = outstanding S= satisfactory N=needs improvement **Pictures are updated periodically each school year. Please watch for updates as the class progresses. |
